About Us – Coastal Home Plans
Welcome to Coastal Home Plans! We are a local, small business run by dad and daughter duo Jeff and Reilly Evans. We are based out of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, a barrier island just north of beautiful Charleston.
In the Beginning: home plans just right for the coast
Jeff opened shop back in 1998, with the idea of helping people find their perfect coastal home design. He grew up in the midwest, with a father who managed residential and commercial construction projects in his second career. Jeff’s love of watching a home being built came from getting mud on his boots while touring construction sites on weekends as a kid. Jeff decided to pursue studies in marketing, graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with degrees in business and photography. After working with an Atlanta publisher selling print advertising and stint as a marketing associate for a commercial facilities consultancy he relocated to Charleston accepting a job with a top ad agency. Jeff proposed to his new employer how important online marketing was going to be to an agency that focused its’ ad campaigns in magazines, newspapers, radio, and television. To prove the validity of online marketing, Jeff convinced the owner of the agency to let him build a website to test all the different avenues then available online. That website was Coastal Home Plans – a one-stop destination for finding designs suited for living on the coast.
Daughter Adds Her Expertise to the Biz
Jeff’s daughter Reilly has participated for many years in the family business. Optimizing artwork, adding new plans to the site and teaching Dad about all the new and dynamic online tools for getting the word out to folks looking for beach and lake home designs. Recently she returned to the Charleston area to join the Coastal Home Plans Team as our Marketing Director. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business and Retail Merchandising. After graduation, Reilly worked in the retail fashion business as well as running the tasting room and retail operation for a popular vineyard and tasting room. Reilly brings her experience in customer service and social media marketing to Coastal Home Plans.
